Lisa Breznak, Rose Parade, Photo by Howard Goodman, Clay, paint , 22K gold leaf BY CHANCE: A MEETING OF MINDS, MATERIAL & MEANING By Chance: A Meeting of Minds, Material and Meaning features new works by artists Lisa Breznak, Mimi Czajka Graminski and Riva Weinstein. This multimedia exhibition includes sculpture, fiber, two-dimensional and ephemeral works drawn from nature. The exhibition will be presented in Kurt Seligmann's Studio, the Robert Fagan Art Library (located on the second level of the Seligmann home) and throughout the Seligmann Center grounds.  A Summer Solstice Celebration will follow.  LISA BREZNAK is a sculptor living and working in Peekskill, New York. Using a variety of materials and patinas, her anthropomorphized forms address universal issues of the human condition and the natural world. Breznak exhibits internationally and has had residencies in the United States and Japan. She has lectured on her work at Seika University Kyoto Prefectural University, and the Kyoto International Group, Japan, the Dorsky Museum, and Exit Art in New York City. Breznak holds degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology, SUNY, and Goddard College.http://www.lisabreznak.com/ Mimi Czajka Graminski, Wool Drawing 4 (pink), Dyed wool on vellum, 21"x36" MIMI CZAJKA GRAMINSKI juxtaposes unusual materials with traditional hand crafts, bringing new meaning to both. She has exhibited work nationally at venues that include Pratt/ Munson Williams Proctor Gallery, Abecedarian Gallery, Samuel Dorsky Museum, Islip Museum, Katonah Museum, and Sam Houston University Gallery, the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, Exit Art, Lubbock Fine Arts Center, and Haggin Museum. Graminski’s work in Love of Art at The Hat Factory, New York was highlighted in the New York Times. Graminski lives and works in Red Hook, New York.http://mimigraminski.blogspot.com Riva Weinstein, Photograph of performance at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, 2014 RIVA WEINSTEIN  creates site specific performances and installations using every day experiences and materials. Weinstein has exhibited work throughout the Hudson Valley, New York City, Los Angeles, and New Zealand. Her work has been exhibited at venues including Exit Art and the Dorsky Museum and is included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum. She has received awards for her use of reclaimed materials, and presented workshops at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. ANNOUNCING OUR NEW EXHIBIT   Wilderstein is pleased to announce a new exhibition of contemporary outdoor sculptures by emerging Hudson Valley artists.   Exhibition runs June 7 through October 31.    Featured artists include Mark Bennett, Laura Cannamela, Andy Fennell, Robert Filipek, Mimi Graminski, Jennifer Harris, Steve Jennis, Nicholas Kahn & Richard Selesnick, Melora Kuhn, and William Logan.

Wilderstein Historic Site is a house museum in Rhinebeck, New York. The estate, with its exquisite Queen Anne mansion and Calvert Vaux designed landscape, is widely regarded as the Hudson Valley's most important example of Victorian architecture.
